Chipolopolo striker Fashion Sakala has a European major coming up in a fortnight after his club Glasgow Rangers reached the 2021/2022 UEFA Europa League final.
The Scottish champions beat German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig 3-1 at Ibrox on Thursday night to advance to the final 3-2 on aggregate.
Fashion, though, started the semifinal, final leg from the bench and came on in time-added-on of the first half with Rangers leading two-nil heading into the break.
The Chipolopolo forward replaced Super Eagles Nigeria forward Joe Aribo who had sustained a head injury.
Sakala had a great chance to make it three-nil in the 52nd minute but it was not a problem for Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
Meanwhile, Rangers will not escape the shadow of the Bundesliga in the Europa League final on May 18 in Seville, Spain.
Rangers will play Eintracht Frankfurt who ejected English club West Ham United 3-1 on aggregate following a 1-0 home win on Thursday.
Reaching the Europa League final also makes up for Rangers pre-group stage exit from the UEFA Champions League last August when they were eliminated by Swedish side Malmo.
