Zambia striker Fashion Sakala’s UEFA Europa League final debut dream is still alive after Glasgow Rangers eliminated Sporting Braga in Thursday’s quarterfinal, last leg, home tie in Scotland.
Fashion, who had a forgettable first leg in Portugal on April 7, did not start this time on Thursday but came in extra-time after the two sides went into the 90 minutes tied at 2-2.
The Chipolopolo striker replaced Nigerian striker Joe Aribo in the 105th minute.
However, it was Jamaican striker Kemar Roofe who settled the tie four minutes before Fashion came on to send Rangers to the penultimate stage.
Rangers will play Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the semifinals and the first leg is set for April 28 away in Germany while the final leg will be played on May 5 at Ibrox.
Winner will face the victor of the other British Isles-versus-Germany tie involving Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United.
