Striker Brian Mwila reflects on finally opening his account for Power Dynamos three months after joining the Kitwe club from Buildcon.

Mwila on Sunday scored a brace and topped it up with an assist in Power’s 5-0 away win over struggling Indeni at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

“It is really great because it is something that I have been looking forward to doing and then fortunately, it has some to pass,” Mwila said.

“So I am very happy and excited and I think it is something that has lifted up my morale and my stay at Power Dynamos.”

The goals also came against his childhood club but Mwila said he had a job to do.

“Football is business, I know it is my former club but when I step on the field of play I mean business but at the end of the game that is when I get to feel that it is my former club,” Mwila said.

The win over Indeni lifts Power from ninth to fifth on 42 points.

Power are now three points outside the top four continental qualification bracket where their Kitwe arch-foes Nkana are currently perched at number four and occupy one of the two CAF Confederation Cup slots.

“We still have hopes even if (it is rumoured) that CAF has said they dropped two teams but there is no proper information coming from CAF but we just have to keep pushing and praying to play continental football,” he said.
