Striker Fashion Sakala and his Glasgow Rangers teammates are in Portugal on Thursday seeking better fortunes in Europe tonight following their weekend Old Firm Derby home defeat to Celtic.
The Champions of Scotland lost 2-1 to league leaders Celtic on Sunday to see the second placed side trail the latter by six points after 32 games played.
Rangers are looking to put that domestic setback behind them when they face Sporting Braga in a UEFA Europa League quarterfinal first leg match.
Fashion, who came on in the 65th minute of the Old Firm derby for goal scorer Aaron Ramsey, is seeking his first start in Europe since November 4 when Rangers drew 1-1 away to Danish side Brondby.
Furthermore, the Chipolopolo striker has yet to score in eight European appearances this season for Rangers following his summer move from Belgium club KV Oostende.
Meanwhile, in the Scottish championship on Wednesday, Fashion’s compatriot and Chipolopolo defender Frankie Musonda was in action for fifth positioned Raith Rovers who lost 2-0 away to second from bottom Dunfermline Athletic.
The 24 year old defender, who made his Chipolopolo debut on March 25 during Zambia’s 3-1 friendly win over Congo-Brazzaville in Turkey, played the full 90 minutes for Raith.
