Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic is pushing for a couple of friendly dates in May for a final appraisal before June’s 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
The Croat has just completed his first three games in charge that saw Chipolopolo play away friendlies in March against Congo-Brazzaville and Benin in Turkey and Iraq in Baghdad.
Chipolopolo beat Congo 3-1 but went down to Benin and Iraq who beat them 2-1 and 3-1 respectively.
“I am pushing together with FAZ to find dates and more games but most of the players will be busy with their closing league games at their clubs and most likely most would finish their games between May 12-15,” Asanovic said.
“We will find the time and the games because without the camps, without the games, it is not easy to prepare the teams but I am sure we will do everything in time.”
Chipolopolo currently await the 2023 AFCON group stage qualifier draws following the conclusion of the two-legged, preliminary round qualifiers that were played in March.
