Patson Daka is backing Chipolopolo to deliver despite his and Enock Mwepu’s ineligibility for Tuesdays home game against Tunisia’s due to the UK’s COVID 19 rating protocols.

Leicester City striker Paton and Brighton midfielder Mwepu, who both featured in Friday’s 2-1 away win over Mauritania, have been excused to avoid the prospect of undergoing mandatory quarantine had they travelled to Red-Listed Zambia.

Mauritania is not on the Red-Listed nations.

“It is a very sad feeling for me and Enock because we won’t be part of this amazing group but at the end of the day we know the team is bigger than the players,” Patson said.

“We have got a lot of quality players, no one is better than the other in this team and that is what is very important.

“We treat each other equally and we know anyone can deliver at any given time.

“So we believe in the guys who have remained that they will do the required job and they have our support.

“We may not be there physically but spiritually we will be there with them we will be supporting them we will be praying for them.”

Patson was not on target against Mauritania but Mwepu scored Zambia’s opening goal in the 10th minute to give Chipolopolo a 1-0 halftime lead.

Prince Mumba scored the final goal in the 57th minute before Niass Amadou snatched Mauritania’s consolation goal in the 69th minute.

The English-based duo played the full 90 minutes for Chipolopolo that saw Zambia start the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B qualifiers in second place only on goal difference behind Tunisia who beat Equatorial Guinea 3-0 on Friday at home in Rades.
