Buffaloes' COSAFA Women's CL hopes suffers setback

Green Buffaloes Ladies FC’s CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying hopes suffered a setback on Friday afternoon following a 2-0 loss to Black Rhino Queens of Zimbabwe in their opening Group B fixture of the inaugural COSAFA Zone tournament qualifiers in Durban.

Buffaloes’ defeat at King Zwelithini’ Stadium in Durban saw the Zambian women’s league champions  slumped at the bottom of Group B with just one match left to play in their three-club pool.

Second half goals from Marjory Nyaumwe in the 60th minute and Christabel Katona thirteen minutes later saw the Rhino Queens go top of Group B.

The Zimbabwean club tops Group B on 3 points ahead of their last game against TURA Magic of Namibia on August 29.

Buffaloes will return to action on August 31 to face TURA Magic in both teams last Group B match.
